Giovanni Gear Oil Question
#1
I just got one of the 50cc Giovannis and when it came it was on its side in the crate. There was oil everywhere and I am concered that it might have been the gear oil. I removed the large plug on the side of the case and there is nothing in there? Should there be?
Does anyone know how to check if the gear oil level is correct and if I need to add some, what oil is recommended?
Thanks for helping out a newbie.
PS The engine oil was empty too and I did put in a good quality 4 stroke oil.

Sitting on the quad the plug on the left side is not a fill plug. DO NOT put any fluid in that plug. The fill plug is on the right rear of the quad. There is no gear oil It is lubricated by the engine oil. It has a wet clutch system. The oil drain plug is the bigger of the two plugs on the bottom. You should use a non detergent oil like motorcycle oil because it is made for wet clutches. If you use regular oil the clutch may not las as long.
