Have you ever wussed out?

fellas:
I have to download the pics from my camera. I was at the bottom of a large hill, and being new to riding, i kinda wussed out on taking on the challenge. I have to get familiar with the Fourtrax. I am sure I could have climbed it, but I wondered what coming down would have been like. I went maybe 50 yards up, out of the 250.

lol ya i will admit i have 1 hill when i look up im like um screw that then one day i climbed it without looking at it really and got to top no problems 1st time 2nd time was in mud with slicks befor my mudlites lol that was a scare sliding around around whole time till i made it up. Hill is prolby 60-100 yards but its a rocky hill and trees. coming down you gota stop fast or cut a turn cause you go off in a creek thats worse part of the hill.

up until a couple years ago,,,,the only thing that slowed me from challenging a hill was whether or not I felt like buying a bunch of parts the next day
Nowadays, im having a hard time finding body parts (my body) suppliers that stock what i need,,,,so i take it pretty easy.
If I see something somewhat borderline,,,,,I let OFC or TP pass me and let them hit it. They like that kinda stuff too,,,and its durn fun to watch em climb stuff.

There is this hill on the backside of Brown Mt. NC that the locals call motherfu#&@$. Its about a mile long,,,starts off pretty gradually and steadily goes up, up, up.
1st time i went up it,,,,noboby bothered to tell me that there is actually no top to the hill. I had about 6 XR400's in front of me,,,and they sarted dropping like flys.....then i turned this corner and the leaves began to get real deep,,,and I could tell i was on virgin territory. Problem wasn't going further,,,,it was just that if i stopped,,,,the bike was a goner for sure,,,,,would have continued off a huge cliff. The hill would go left,,,then round a tree,,,,and then get steeper,,,then another tree and then direction change...so on.
I finally get to this section that has fallen timber all over the path,,,,and way up ahead there is a boulder,,,that i decide to aim for. I manage to hop two fallen limbs and get my 400ex pitched to the side on the uphill side of this boulder. I shut if off and my whole body was shaking. !st thing i heard was my girlfriend yelling BABYYYY BABBBY!!!! She was about 100 yards behind me leaning against a tree noone told her either (she was on a trailblazer 250)
Someone was looking out for us that day,,,,i got my bike turned around and could barely keep the back tires from going azz over teakettle. Made it to Julie and left her there. She walked down,,,and i walked back up for the trailblazer.
6 old men greated us with smiles on the way back down. Word has it,,,,i was the 1st 4 wheeler on the hill,,,,and had set the new height record. Bastids!!!!!!!
I almost lost 2 bikes to the mountain that day,,,,and possibly a g/f.

Its always good to be up for a chellenge, but if you're not sure of a hill, wait till you are more comfortable with it before you try it. Making a mistake because you are scared or nervous can be alot worse than making a mistake that you are prepared for.
