Everyone I have read about who has the IMS heal guards has had the same problem... sucks cause I heard they would be sweet if they fit right... nice that you were able to bend them up right. Don't worry though IMS is not the only company putting out products that don't fit right... my AC Racing Pro Peg Nerfs came with peg brackets that were in no way even close to working... I had to weld up my own. The ones I made are 100% stronger than the AC's... they were really thin folded sheet metal... mine are 1/4 inch wall steel tubing. I figured peg strength was pretty important when you weight 350lbs... I guess AC didn't feel the same way.

I bought one of the first set of heel guards from IMS and I gotta tell you it was a nightmere. After waiting several months for them and being consistantly lied to by their customer service rep, I finally received a set. The right one fit fine but the left one appreared to be made for some other brand of quad. I had to cut, rebend and have a friend TIG them back together. I got my money back and got to keep the heel guards as well but the whole ordeal was was the pitts.
At the time I was buying them, AC was making them for IMS-Roll. Not sure if that is still the case but it sure sounds like it.

Interesting
as my set bolted right up to the frame,(kept the screw loose) used a little floor jack popped them right on in less than 15min give or take a beer or two.
Look great and beefy... man my boots stick to the Pegs like smelly glue... some times a little to much. Great design as far as pegs go.
Kind of pricy but then what isnt for the DS
But happy none the less. That was a great MOD...

i have also had problems with the heel guards i have gone through two pairs of them on my ds, and now have the third set on. luckily ims and roll design have been cool enough to exchange them for free. but this last time they told me that they probably weren't going to make them anymore due to the fact that ac racing made the heel guards for them. one thing to look at is the bend where they bend up to connect to the pegs, they seem to always start cracking right there, you guys should check yours out.

The IMS heel guards are a bit on the whimpy side, sooo that is why i modified mine & strengthened them up . if a person weighs over 100# they will not last. the best way to fix this is too add a piece of 1/2 in bar stock to the back side of the inner down bar, or replace with 3/4in, and across the bottom that will solve the weekness. I "fixed" mine before i ever installed them, & they will work with stock pegs. if you check my pics you can see the mods i did to mine.

Love my pegs. But they (IMS) sent me two right side pegs first. Then when I got the heel guards, they came without the hardware and the finish was scratched from poor packaging and the welds were sloppy. One black splatter mark from sloppy welding was in the smooth flat surface of the heelguard itself, nowhere near the welds and it was not even cleaned up. My last complaint was with the holes lining up on the pegs themselves.

I spent a long time modifying the stock DSX nerfs to fit that combination, but after all the other time I spent on getting it right, it was worth it and it looks sweet and like they were made to fit (to my credit).

For the reason of the high cost of the IMS product, I opted against going IMS again for the new LTR450. If I spend that much $$$, I dont want to have problems and want it right the first time or make it right quickly. And a little better on the customer service end too!

If IMS is paying attention, you lost a return sale.
