Default Died in a mudhole

Me and a buddy were going through some water (he has a 650 rincon and I have a 06 400 ac) he made it all the way through and I was about to when the bike died. The water was about 3 inches below the tail pipe. I thought that was the problem but my buddy said no it's not below water. Anyway he pulled me out and we took the sparkplug boot off and put a lighter to it and it still took about a minute for it to fire up. No water came out the tailpipe. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be? I don't mind getting stuck but I hate dyin'.

it could be that your sparkplug wire has a slice in it. what i been told to do to find this is to let the engine idle and take a hairspray bottle with water in it and start spraying misting on the spark plug cap all the wires and everywhere and if the engine starts hickuping then you know where it is and you can fix it.
