Default tires for vinson

I am looking for good mud and trail tire for my vinson. It is s standard model and was also woundering how big of a tire you can go before it runs out of power to turn them in the mud. I was thinking of the ITP 589 m/s 26/9/12, 26/12/12 but not sure if it will have the power to turn them. Any tire size and makes or models that you can recommend would be helpful.

I have 26 inch Mudlites and love them! Yes, you will notice a slight loss of power but the Vinson will do just fine with 26 inch 589's. You will love the traction!!

What kind of riding are you going to be doing and where? Are we talking mud, snow, sand, hard roads, hills, with rocks or dirt etc. they all make a diff. on what kind of tread design that works well for that area.even different kinds of mud. it will make a diff. one person the mudlites may be super and for another the Bearclaws are just fine, on the farm maybe the 589 will do the job, research before you buy,get tires with rim guard and 6 ply for sure! have fun.

If your looking for good mud and trail tires, then I wouldnt go with 589's. Allthough they are awesome in mud, anywhere else they are a hinder. I rode a set of 26x9's front and back for about 60 miles and sold them fast. they were awsome in mud, but on the trail they walked allover the place, especially in sand. And in sand they would get me stuck in about 2 seconds flat. And they were heavy, even for a 26" tire, i could really feel the diff at speed with these tires. They were hard as rocks and made me remember when i used to drive a "Skidder" pulling logs outta the woods, if you know how a skidder rides youll be prepared. I ended up selling them after 2 weeks to my cousin for $100 less than I payed, and got me a set of stock polaris PXT's (carlisle act), which i havnt regreted since. they work awesome for how i ride, and the terrain i ride. Im not a big mud person , i usually watch everyone else get in the deep stuff, as i go around it. but the pxt's still pull good in mud. Ide say if you want a good tire for allpurpose, get mudlites, or their twin the supergrip (or whatever the name is). They ride a lot smoother and handle a lot better, heck my buddy has some 26" dirt devils that i like a lot, prob going to get a set for my new KQ.
