My fan in my raptor??
#1
My fan hasnt came on in a long time. The last time I herd it come on was when I had the airbox lid off and spark arrestor out. It was running leaner then. Since I put the dobeck on it hasnt came on since. I let it set and idle for a while and no fan. The motor still didnt seem hot. You could lay your hand on the side of the motor. Has anyone else had any fan issues???

During the winter I thought the fan on my 700 wasn't working either, it didn't com on once during the winter. Now that it has warmed up, it turns on, but it takes quite a bit of slow, back and forth riding to get the motor hot enough. Its weird cus my buddies fans are on 24/7.

I have had this exact conversation with a few of my friends who own Raptors. A friend and myself have the 02 Raptors and my fan rarely comes on, even in desert riding. I have another friend who bought the 700 Raptor and his comes on often. We were at Gordons Well last weekend, mine never came on, and his was on every time we pulled up to a stop.

I agree. With the jetting right it seams to run alot cooler. I dont think I have a problem but I will watch it close. If I can put my hand on the motor and dont get burned I am running pretty cool.

There is a TSB from Yamaha on the fan connectors in the wiring harness on the 700R if you never hear your fan run you should check the connectors to be sure that they are making a good connection.
The connectors are located in the rear of the quad near the relays. They are wrapped up so you will have to cut open the tape sheathing, push the connectors all the way together and then tape the sheathing back up.
