Hi everybody, I just wanted to share my experience with you. Yesterday I race a 450r honda(all stock) against my piped, intaked, jetted, geared raptor. Man,absolutely no challenge, I just blew past him like if he wasnt moving at all. I know I'm not comparing apple to apple but I'm just sharing my experience! I guess thats the difference between 210cc lol
Please dont start to get mad at me,its not my fault, the guy wanted to race me! lol

well he didnt...and believe it or not, its the second 450r that I can beat easily. For everybody that thinks that those lil 450 are that fast, its not true. Theres no replacement for displacement.

I have never lost to a raptor 660 or 700, not even close. Im sure you can put enough money into a raptor to make it compete or faster than a 450. You dont seem to understand that even though you have 660cc or 700cc the DO NOT make as much power than the 450's, when I say 450's I mean ALL OF THEM !! A piped, jetted, no lid 660 will put around 40hp to the ground, same mods on a 450 and you at about 45-48 hp, then you minus the 60-70 lbs ( remember that it takes aprox 1hp for every 10 lbs more you have ) and there you have it. Thats just the way it is, if you dont like it go get a 450. And I would be willing to bet that if you had a 450, it would smoke a raptor, if you had a predator it would smoke a raptor. The moral of this story is a mildly modified raptor will not beat a stock 450.

I have never lost to a 450, yamaha or honda, modded or not. The races are close but as soon as I grab third, BYE BYE. One experience I had was a guy on a 450r came up to me and started mumbling all this and that that he has had done to his quad, about all I remember him saying was he had a hot cam, weisco piston, no lid, rev increaser, and yoshi exhaust, running race gas (I could smell it too so he wasnt lieing). Then he asked me what I had done to my raptor, I told him the exhaust, aluminum airbox, and jetted on a dyno. He then asked if I wanted to race, I was apprehencive at first cause I thought that I was about to get spanked, but who cares right. We ended up drawing a line in the dirt and started on a roll and nailed it at the line, I ended up beating him by about half a bike length. After that he didnt talk to me anymore. I will say that my town is kinda small and you end up racing the same people allot, and I have only raced about 6-7 450's and beat them all. However I know that I am not invinceable, there is always someone with something better and faster. Oh and he handed my a$$ to me out on the track.

Dont under-estimate the raptor boy. And a pipe, intake, jetted raptor will make more hp then a 450r. I'm not thrashing the honda or anything, I'm just saying the reality. the 450r doesnt have near the top end of a raptor, like speedwise. I'm going 80-82mph and hes doing like 73?

Well, let me throw this out there for you, I have a 2003 Polaris Predator and my 2006 YFZ will beat it pretty bad, even on top end in not really a race. Now, I have had the pleasure of racing a few Raptors on my Predator and its mixed results, won some, lost some. I would hardly say the raptor has much more top end considering that the "claimed" top speed is 73 for the yfz and 75 for the raptor. The 450's have enough power ( low, mid and top end ) that you could easily change to a taller gear and reach speeds much higher than 75 while still being quicker than the raptor. I know you guys are going to argue this forever but really think about what you are saying. A raptor was never intended to be a race quad ( even though some people race them ) rather it was made for trails more than a race track. The 450's were only made for the track ( even though some people ride trails with them ) plus they were not made for top speed, however they were made to be very quick.
Now, I could really care less about top speed as Im all about getting there quick. Last thing is, there is NO WAY any quad with " REVERSE" is going to beat a 4fitty, lol.........thats just the way it is
