Why are both of these quads the same price? Which one is better? I have a utility, now I want a racer and I don't want anything smaller than a 450. Any advice?

They are the same price because they are equivalant machines designed for different purposes.

450=a race ready quad great for the track, and very capable in other applications =stiffer ride and smaller **** pit

700= is more of a all purpose sport quad, does a little bit of everything very well = softer ride and more roomy

If you going to do alot of racing the 450 is probally the better choice but if going trail riding the 700 would be.

Stock for stock they are pretty close speed wise. Just ask a 700 rider he is faster or ask a 450 rider he is faster hehe

Really just a matter of what you want to do with it.

That said me and my buddy ride the same area I got a 700 he got a 450 lol

Both great quads and really both can do about any type of riding. I say ride both and see which feels better to you

Both are great quads. The Raptor is just more all purpose. I eneded up choosing the raptor because of reverse. I race a lot of mx now so i wish i would have gotten a 450 but i am happy with what i got. They are capable of doing well in mx just you will be spending more money to do it

i also had this delima and chose the raptor. my reasoning was a point that my father made.... the raptor is more "sellable" say after 2 years and i am lookin at getting a new one since it is fuel injected and has reverse. i also will not see the track as i only ride trails and dunes

When you say racer....do you mean that your actually gonna compete at the track and never ride recreationally\for fun???

How tall are you? I had planned to buy the 450, but at 5'11' I was uncomfortable and cramped when I sat on it. SO i bought a 700. Reverse is nice, but if I had chosen the 450 I could have pushed it out of the toy hauler.

I ride 90% dunes and 10% desert.

I love my 700. It starts without hesitation, idles great, has reverse, awesome power, the layout of controlls is great.

I had the exact same delema....however I purchased the 700 because it is a more all-around quad and I do a lot of trail riding. Don't get me wrong, the 450 is a great quad. My buddy has a 450 and the only thing I didn't like about it was the lack of comfort on long runs. (2 or more hours). Since I loved the suspension of the 450, I bought some 450 front shocks for my 700 and now I feel like I've made the right choice. At only 5'8"&175lbs, I can still throw the 700 around almost as easy as the 450.

Hope this helps.

I think I will be doing more trail and dune riding than anything else. I don't plan on going into the pro racing circuit just yet! I have been thinking about the Raptor, but a buddy of mine said that he thought the Raptor was too top heavy. I have no idea because I haven't ridden either of them. Thanks to all for the advice. I think I'll be saving up for a Raptor.

The 660's were known to be a little tipsy but they addressed that on the 700's. The 700 is shorter, wider, longer and has a lower seat height. Mine doesnt feel tipsy at all

i have the YFZ and i mainly just trail ride. i hit the tracks occasionally but i dont race. its an awsome quad and i love it to death. its so easy to menever and is very hard to flip (if your a good rider) the only bad thing about it is no reverse, but you can spin it around literally on a dime with out even moving one tire. i would diffanaly choose this, however i havent had a chance to drive the new 700.
