would it cause any damage to the motor if i ran the DS with only the header pipe n no tail pipe or muffler?

 

yes, i have read on here that back pressure is not nessacary but that harmonics or something or other is. something with the angle of the pipe or something. somebody else could explain this but i would definately not go open headers, its loud as can be and it would probably melt some wires down there

Be sure to do this around camp at your favorite riding spot. I would only suggest doing it when it is cooler outside like early in the morning and later in the evening. Even better when everyone is inside sleeping and their is more Oxygen in the air because people aren't outside. Be sure to let it warm-up slowly by riding it around camp. It is a good idea to ride it to the other side of camp then stop and rev it for a few minutes then ride to the other side of camp and rev it for another few minutes.

If you rode that way thru anything flammable, fire would mark your trail. If on public land, the Forest Svc would lock you up and throw away the key. If on private land, better ride with a kevlar vest and an asbestos suit.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
