86 250 fourtrax utility went into a pond
#1
A friend drove my 250 fourtrax into a pond, I can tell you first hand the quad floats.
everything bit of the quad was under water all you can see was the rear rack floating for at leat 10 min. the quad was shut off right away. what kind if damage should I expect. I drained the oil from the crank case, yes water in the crank case. took apart the carband drained the bowl ,drained the gas tank. Now im just letting it sit to dry out a couple of days. Do you think it will run again?.
Any body else experience this..........

I wouldnt let it sit long, internal parts will start to rust. Drain all your fluids, refill them and run it for about 10 minutes, yhen change all the fluids again. you should be good to go after that.

I would clean most of the water out first since you don't want to have too much water in the cylinder since it does not compress (read: Not good for your rod)
