If all you ride is dunes and wide open spaces then the banshee is king. If you do any riding other than dunes, like trial riding or MX, then you should probably lean towards the 250r. The 250 is more reliable and cheaper to maintain, handles better, has better shocks, and the powerband is more tame than the banshee's.

250R. i had both and while the banshee is at home most in the sand, the 250R isnt too bad either - its a prety good duner but there is no comparison in handling: the 250r handles WAYYY better. id take the 250r anyday. both are reliable, but in the short/long run- maintenence is much easier on the 250R. the banshee does have more hop-up potential but a 250R can be made to go dang fast! put it this way, when i got the 250r - it was used and in near mint condition (go check ebay out they had some on ther last week that looked good) and i chose to ride it over my new (at the time) banshee. it was that good. near perfect blend of power, presicion and performance.
