Tach on a 2000
#1
I am in the process of buying a tach for my 2000 DS650. I know in the later years they were factory on the Baja, so the wiring harness was there and they would plug right in.
Will the harness be there on my 2000 or will I have to wire it in ???

which tach are you going to buy?
maybe this one is for the old style wiring harness (non-Baja): http://www.parkeryamaha.com/index.as...D&ProdID=22225

there's not much involved with hooking a tach up, you'll need to splice into a switched 12v( near the key) you'll need to pick up a signal from one of the coils and you'll need a ground, that's about it, The tach I installed on my 2000 was from RWR and came with the connectors and a little diagram and was very straigh forward- they are nice to have
have fun.

The one I bought is the one you have listed.
Bought it from Rexburg motorsparts for $145.00
So it should easy to install right ???
Plan on installing it in the dunes when I am in St. A's
Do you guys know what size of hole saw I will need for the dash ???
