Different Carbs from Warriors to Raptor 350s
#1
Just wondering what is up with the carb on my Raptor 350. It is a diaphragm type. I believe this is different from what a Warrior has. I'm curious as to how they work since the diaphragm pulls up on the needle and not the throttle cable. This is the first time i have worked on one like this. I am fighting a typical dirty carb problem (it is running lean, only runs good with the choke on), and have disassembled the carb and it is spotless. I am thinking that one of the diaphragms is bad but they look ok. I would appreciate any help or information on this.

It has a cleaned tank, new fuel and a new fuel filter. There are no mods done to this quad. The intake boot is in perfect condition, as is the o-ring between the boot and the head. My feeling is there might be a small passage that i missed in the carb body. I had removed every jet, the slide, the side diaphragm, and the needle and seat, and thoroughly cleaned all and blew with compressed air. My main point was to see if anyone knew about this carb or what the differences are? Pros or cons to either one? I'm sure the standard response would be to just replace it with an Edelbrock but i would like to learn about it. Thanks for any replies!
