what are the benifits of removing the baffle from the stock ds 650 exhaust? should I have to re jet?

 

NONE...if you want more performance for free...cut everything off the back of your endcap so its just 2 holes. You need the baffle to direct the flow of gasses out the back of the muffler. To get max power yes you will need to rejet.

Will cutting out all the "stuff" and just leaving the 2 holes result in the same performance gains as putting on an endcap?

 

I havent had the chance to try a endcap...but i did go from my modified endcap to a yoshimura pipe and the onlything that i noticed when switching was the added bottom end of the yoshi....no other gains over my modded endcap. Sounds great while keeping the ound down i thought and performed VERY well for a free mod.

 

I modded my endcap before buying the HPR, I havnt noticed any difference except looks. I still have my modded endcap on a shelf, Pm me and I might clean it out of the garage if your looking for one.
