it should stretch or cpi has aluminuim ones. its a pain the first couple times but with alittle spit and some elbow grease a large carb should go in.

Check with Hot seat and see if they have it.

Elbow grease will work too, just be sure not to completely drain the elbow.

Hope you got it on by now, but I agree with the others. I did a 38mm once, and that thing was a bear. 45 minutes of absolute cussing and red faced! It's funny thinking back on it now!

lol, Id hate to have to take it off again, allthough it would probably be easier the second time. What if i took a knife and make the end tapered? not taking off too much but just enough to make it go on easier, Also do i have to make any mods to the airbox? What jetting you guys running? I have a 140(?)(maybe 240) main and not sure on the pilot but probably stock, i also have a hpd pipe, and clutch kit on it right now, clutch kit probably doesnt matter. Im going to obviously need a jetting change, I have like 5 carbs that are 38mm's laying around to snowmobiles, everything is there except jets, what should i run? the needle jet is there too, they are all to polaris 650's I own. Thanks, Brian

The mod that I did to the air box was removed the intake snorkle and cut out the holes making one larger hole. This will obviouly lower the WATERLINE of the quad. Jets? I am not sure anymore. The next time the boot should go on much easier. At least mine did!

Try not to cut it! Just see if it is easier next time. Think of it like this, you got it on once, you can do it again!

Hmm Doing the airbox mod sounds like a great idea, For the snorkle couldnt i just attempt to make the hole bigger? Maybe shove a thin larger diameter tube in there? Idk, I have to worry more about jets more than anything else I think. Thank, Brian

I only wanted to take off like a mm of rubber, just hold the knife at an angleand go around the inside of the outside of the carb, just make it tapered a little to make the carb go in easier, it will make the rubber exppand better, Thanks, Brian
