95 Warrior needs some tips
#1
Hey everyone, this is my first post in here and I could use some tips. Such as what kind of first-time maintenance i should do on my quad, any problems I should look out for, what kind of aftermarket stuff would be good on it. Stuff like that would be appreciated.

If you don't have one already, get an aluminum skidplate for the rear rotor/sprocket. The original just doesn't do it.
Some things to look out for on a Warrior: The chain slack constantly falls out of adjustment, due to the old design, and the airfilter is kept in place by screwing the lid down over the top of it. It's a pain, but if you have a little patience, these things shoudn't give you too much trouble.
I have an FMF silencer on my Warrior, but it seems most people here prefer the White Bros E-Series, which is a megaphone type silencer, I believe.
By the way, if you intend to do most or all of the work on you quad youself, rather than having a dealer overcharge you, I'd buy a Clymer's manual. It's easy to follow, and will help immensely with any repair/maintenence.

There's also grease fittings on the suspension. Keep em greased. Occasionally I like to remove the brakes, and take an airgun to them to get out dirt/salt/grime, which will make the brakes work better/last longer. I've done some minor mods to mine, but as far as maintenence to keep it running, Warriors are famous for being reliable machines. Just keep the fluids changed, fittings greased, filter clean, and buy the Clymer's manual.

If you are not familiar with ATV or Motorcycle engines, something you will need to know about or face costly consequences is to keep it 'jetted' correctly. Do some research in the forums, and in the tech connection on jetting. Print out some info on how to do it, and get it done. This is one of the most vital basic parts of maintenance that people don't do, mostly because they are not aware they need to. Also in the articles that describe how to do it, is info on when and why to do it. Read up, you'll save yourself money and heartache in the longrun. (Oh, and your ATV will just run better when you are using it as well.)
