Rolled my Scrammy 'bent Rear axle'?
#1
I recently rolled my 05 500 4X4 Scrambler down a soft dirt hill. It only did about 2 complete revoloutions slowly down the hill. I had to wait 2 weeks for my leg to recoup...."Scrambled the wrong direction"....... When I finally got to ride it again and check things out I noticed that the right rear tire was "Warbled". I swapped both rear tires and it is still warbled. Do I just order a whole new complete axle or is it simple enough to change the trans-axle? Do I need any special tools?

Is that the weakest point? I assumed that it was welded on and didn't check until now. I live around 90 miles from the nearest ATV parts store so I normally just order parts online. Thanks for the help.

if the axel IS bent its not that hard to chang you jsut have to take every thing off the old axel SAVE every thing and then reuse like the bolts but check the rear houseing bearing and seal for wear is the axel is bent cause it could wourp the seal and bearing but if you do have to get a new axel its about 180 bucks thats what it is for a 250 trailblazer

If you have a press it is easy enough to just straighten the axle. Use a dial indicator to measure the high spots and then just press it the other way. Two v blocks, a dial indicator and a cheap press and a little time. I did my Hondas all the time. One 250x and one 250r axle.

By the way, it is the axle that is bent..... Weak axle, it was a slow roll twice over... Watched my boy roll his raptor probably ten times now. Just replace the handle bars and away we go. $25 spent.
