Default Need help with my big bore tractor!!!

I put my top end together on my bike and the tranny is stuck in gear, it wont shift or any thing. I try to turn the fly wheel from the side cover and it turns forward with no problem then you try to turn it backwards and it is really hard, and I mean really hard to turn, when it turns It feels Like something is grinding or something. I put in a fresh cluth and I lightend the fly wheel so I had both side covers off the staor cover from what I can tell has nothing to do with the tranny It only has the starter gears in it. But the clutch side has gears to do with the tranny. I know the replacing the cluth in the raptor can be a pain so I hope I just put somthing in wrong or backwords. Has any one ran into this problem when they have replaced the there clutch in there raptor. The bike is a 2004. Any help will be great trying to get the bike going for the 4 th.

thanks wayne

Haha, yes i have sir. Did you happen to take the clutch basket off? Because if you did your problem lies right there. Behind the basket, there is a lever system conncted to the shift shaft (the shaft that the foot shift lever that you use to shift with is connected to...it leads all the way over to behind the basket.) The lever moves another little shaft, but if you take off the basket, the lever system falls off the shaft, dont worry, there are no parts you can lose when it falls off. When it falls of, it is stuck in one gear and the foot lever will move down but not up. It feels like it is in 5th gear and it will not upshift but it feels like it will downshift but it will not downshift either.

Well, all you have to do is take the basket off and in the bottom left corner in there, you will find the little mechanism and if you cant find it, play with the shift lever on the other side to make it move and you will find it. All you have to do is reattach the mechanism together and you will be on your way. You will know how to reattach it when you see it, it has been a few months since i did it so i barely remember what it looks like. This will fix your problem.

Oh yea, i did get my bik fixed, it runs perfectly. But i guess it ran so good that it had too much power for the stock rear sprocket and ripped it off the sprocket hub along with the studs... And now she is apart again and the parts just came in at the shop. So once my dad picks that stuff up it will be back together in a jif.

I just bought a new LRD pro4R carbon full exsaust for the tractor because my yoshi did not clear my FCR carbs, and I did not feel like shimming my motor mounts to get the exsaust to fit. Since LRD built my motor they gave me a smoking deal I could not pass up.
