Default Tires 101, newbie here

Hello!

I have a Honda trx250ex 2005, I have been enjoying it for the past year but I need a tire lesson here.

I have 22x10-9 rear and 22x7-10 front. I am told I don't necessarily need to get those exact sizes if and when I decide to replace them, how does that work and what sizes should or could I be looking at? I kind of understand what the numbers mean.

I liked the baloon tires to begin with but now they lack grip since I am becoming more adept at riding.
I also had a brochure from a company that makes camo tires, I forget the name but does anyone have experience with them? I liked the winter camo ones.

Also I read about a slip on exhaust I could get for it? Any links so I can check it out?

thanx

Russ

ALSO!

I am reading about the airbox vents, how is that done? can I just cut holes than cover them with a thick mesh screen?

How is that done?!

thanx again!

Russ

Also, if there is anything else I can or should do to it, let me know

ok one at a time the tires are you keeping the stock rims or are you getting new ones, the slip on exhaust tell me what kind you are looking at the slip ons dont give to much power i would go with a full system, it sounds like you are trying to make your 250ex faster if so read this thread this guy knows alot about what he is tlaking about and has some really good ideas

this thread is good

I did read that and i understand, my main question is about the tires, I will most likely keep the same rims. Money is short but I am just seeking info right now.

I want to know if I should stick to the tire size I have now or can I get differant ones?
