Alright, i thought i had it jetted pretty good, i follow dynojets instructions to the T. I put a 185 main it, and turned the air screw out 2 turns clip on 4th notch from top . I thought it ran good for pipe and filter. but now i put a piston and rev box on and i havent really made a whole lot of increase in power. Before i added those mods i could easily tap the rev limiter in 5th, now i can barely rev to 7700 on flat terrain. Was i suppose to jet richer or something for the advanced timing? or am i running rich or lean? i havent gotten a chance to do a plug test at WOT in 5th because of a bent axle and burnt bearings but could anybody give a hint as to where i am sitting? oh and elevation is about 1400 ft.

 

Could be either.... my guess is that you'll be to rich. When we put new pistons in, new exhaust etc. etc. We tend to pull more fuel through/out of the carb. Just in case though, put a one size bigger jet in and see if there is a difference. If it runs the same or runs worse, you know you are too rich. If it runs better, then you were too lean. Fine tune it with the needle, but it sounds like it's a main jet problem.
