Does Anyone Want Polaris To Come Out With a...
#1
For '07 i want Polaris to atleast put the 800 engine in the Ranger. I have never really been into Side-by-Sides, but my cousin(s) just got a new 4x4 Gator, and i've sort of fell in love. I still love an ATV a trillion times more than a Side-by-Side, but i wouldnt mind having one. It just seems to me, if i was to get a Ranger, i would HAVE to get a 700XP edition because it has the most power of all the Ranger's, but that still seems SO underpowered on these HUGE side-by-sides. But yeah, i think Polaris could easily take control of the sidebyside market this upcoming year, over the Rhino, for '07 since Yamaha didnt change anything on the Rhino, PoPo should just pop the 800EFI engine in a "somewhat" new design, and i would buy one in a hearbeat. And if there are no changes or upgrades, ill probably just buy an '07 700XP .. Are they many upgrades to choose from for sideby's??

the fact that the rangers are considerd OHV's makes them not limited to the CC restrictions. polaris' reasoning for dumping the 700 motors in is because most every part of the rangers are parted from the ATV's. maybe for 2007 we'll see a 2cyl 900cc turbo charged ranger motor

Whooo Hooo!!!!! Damn i would be the first one at the dealer.. Just something even close to that. And yeah i was wondering if they were restriced to 800cc, like ATV's.. Now you got me dreaming about a motor like that lol..

Rangers are cool and all but the dimensions are verrrry close to my offroad GEO Tracker and I can still drive it on the road AND get 24-25 miles per gallon!!!!! Not to mention air and a stereo...... And all can be had for $2500 or less for a good one....

LoL, i didnt think about a Tracker, but yeah, those things seem really manueverable.. but i would love to drive a Ranger. I dont think i ever have. I've driven my freinds Rhino once, and it was pretty nice, but felt it was lacking some power. And i LOVE my 700twin engine in my SP and would love to see how it is in the Ranger. Do they still offer a Straight Axle version of the Ranger? I know Ranger's used to be only available as a Straight Axle..

And the "Ranger TM" has a 653cc engine. Obviously that is an engine specifically designed for the OHV. Hmmmm.. i didnt know they were using an engine in a Ranger that they werent using in a Sportsman. All that i was aware of was of the 500 Ranger and 700 Ranger.

around Mass there really is no sence to the the ORV's unless you own your own HUGE plot of land. you can't ride them on regular ATV trails, can't ride them on the road(paved or dirt).
i think a Jeep will be MUCH more satisfying. off roading during the weekend, to-work-and-back during the week thinking about the FUN you just had with it in the mud and woods!....plus other Jeepers wave back!
i should start a pole: if you could drop $14K, would you rather have a ORV or Jeep/Tracker?LOL!
BTW, yes, a 800EFI would be fitting for the Ranger. i don't see why Polaris hasn't already made one. just think about REAL dual exhaust sticking-out the back! now that would look cool!
