honda 300ex idle adjusting

Default honda 300ex idle adjusting

how can you adjust the idol speed on the atv because the rev is way to loud

it is on the carborator..its a little bolt with a spring..

To be more exact...it's on the same side of the carburator as the choke [left] You should see a large screw with the head facing you. Counter clockwise to idle up, clockwise to idle down.

there is a big, flat head screw that has a big cable

Thats the one. When the quad is warmed up, turn it, till you like the idle rpm.

but when i turn it there is no change

but i did turn it counter clockwise because when i turned it clockwise it it got louder, so when i turned the other way about 10x more there was no change

That would mean you are turned all the way down.

You might want to try taking the throttle apart [on the handle bars], or taking some tension off the cable to see if that does it.

Also......the cable may be kinked causing the idle to be high like that. Trace the throttle cable to see. [might have to remove the fuel tank]
