giovanni brake
#1
Hi new to site, but we have gotten two giovanni 50 cc, was running good took it out it was great, daughter had a great time. Transported it about 13 hours up north and tried to fire it up and it wouldn't start,it did however click, we just had to bang the starter a little bit then it fired up no prob. Went to take it out a couple of days later and absolutely nothing, no click no nothing, brake lights were not coming on, brakes work but no lights. Headlight works, hubby thinks that since you need to have the brake depressed to start it there is something that is blocking the signal that the brakes are depressed and is making it impossible to start up. If anyone has any answers please let me know. Thanks alot in advance.

Hi,
Sounds like maybe the battery was low,and is now dead?
Or you say you had to bang the starter to get it to turn?maybe the bendix inside the starter is sticking.
Hmmm,Check those out if you already havent.Gluck!

Check to make sure all the wiring is hooked up at the brake lever it may be lose..The only problem I have ever found consitantly is loose wire connections..which would make sense if you had to hit it to make it work...I amlocated in southwestern Ontario..if you are nearby I may be able to help

thanks for everyones help, the problem was a sensor under the brake. we bought 2 of these only had the wheels for 1 when i got the wheels for #2 and got it started i realizedthat the sensor under the brake lever was not engaging (even though the brakes were grabbing i had no brake lights, and the engine would not be alloud to start all that driving caused the sensor to bouce apart MEMO TO EVERYONE TRAVELLING WITH ONE OFTHESE DO SO WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED , HAD I DONE SO THIS ISSUE WOULD NOT HAVE COME UP . Thank god I bought 2 , because without #2 I would not have been aaaaable to put #1 back together.IF ANYONE NEEDS HELP AND I CAN I WILL.
