I'm thinking about buying the 335 for my dad can someone let me know what the MSRP is and what I can expect for a price.
Also this past weekend he rode a Kodiak and loved it I checked out the Specs and they seem to compare (335 & Kodiak) pretty well. Does anyone have any input on this?
Your help is appreciated

The 335 Sportsman was replaced buy the 400 Sportsman (425cc motor). Has larger tires and is far and away a better machine than the 335. List is about $6100 , am sure you can do better than that.

My dad has a 2000 Kodiak, and I really can't say anything bad about it. As far as trail handling, it is possibly the best I've ever rode. But for the agility and easy turning you give up a very smooth ride that the 335 would give. If you ride rough terrain with off cambers and ruts, go with the Sportsman. Solid axle can be very scary when the ground drops out from under one wheel. Dad and I went riding the first day he got the Kodiak. Almost turned it over in the same situation, and to this day, he won't go up or down that hill. I like to BACK up it on the Sportsman, and giggle at him as I go past.

If Pops' liked the quickness of the Kodiak, he'll HATE the SP335. It really is a dog. Also it doesn't have engine braking. The Kodiak EBS is pretty good. Also you get compression brakes to the front wheels while in 4x4 without any "tricks".

Dad has only gotten stuck once, where I didn't on my SP500HO. Really is a nice quad. Would I trade my SP for one. NO WAY. But I think I probably would take the Kodiak over the 335.

To answer your question, I think the 335 lists for $5999. But if you can find one, the dealer probably wants it out of his showroom since they have been discontinued.

Good luck,
Dave

I paid $5300.00 for mine brand new in April '99. With tax it was $5700.00 out the door. I admit the 335 is no speed demon, but it will go through anything. I've had my machine up to 49 mph on a flat paved road, verified with a hand held GPS, the speedo was slow 1 mph. The only problems I've had are as follows: Broken rear outer axle shaft at the u-joint yoke. Needed new axle half shaft,u-joint, and right rear lower a-arm. A-arm bent when the axle let go, the spinning axle hit the a-arm. I was climbing a steep hill full of ruts in 2 wheel drive. The quad bounced and when the I came down the right rear wheel bit real hard snapping the axle u-joint yoke. If I had been in 4 wheel drive it probably wouldn't of happened. A few months ago we were riding in the George Washington National Forest in Edinburgh, Virginia. These were awsome trails, but extremely rocky. I punctured my sidewall on my front left tire. The tire blew out and came off the rim, trashing the wheel. When the tire blew out the quad dropped down, and the front left a-arm hit a big rock bending it. I was able to jam a stick in the tire to plug the hole and get the tire re-seated on the bent rim. I rode over three miles like that back to the truck. This I could not blame on the machine. My quad was handling the terrain a little too well. I was cruising over rocks at a good clip sitting down, while my two friends (one on a Bayou 220 and one on a Sport 400) were taking it slow standing on the pegs. I am very pleased with my machine. -Glen

Don't waste your money on the 335. The quad is too heavy for the motor. Go with the SP400 it has a 425 motor in it & you will be fine.
