Default 04 raptor 660 vs. 04 400ex

I have a 660 raptor that is having a hard time staying up with a stock 400ex is something wrong with my rappy or is it just a hunk of crap. Should this be happening or not

Well weight definitely plays an advantage to his side. But even with the difference I would still think you would hand it to him pretty badly.

All I can say is some stock 660s do run like crap, mine did. I'm pretty sure my piped/intaked 400EX would have beat it. The 660 has to be the worst quad from the factory for being plugged up (restricted), IMO. After a pipe and intake, my 660 was a whole different beast...........

You said you have a different filter.Do you use an air box lid?If you don't then you may be lean on the jetting.

Weight does matter though.May want to let one of your lighter friends race your raptor against the 400 and see what happens.

i completly agree with ozark, the 660 are REALLY restricted, however, you still shouldn't have lost to a 400ex unless it was modded like crazy (including the weight difference) .. i had a similar problem with my 660, it turned out to be valves to tight, run a compression test on it, it should be putting out 181psi, the intake valves on raptors have a tendency to self tighten prematurely.. good luck!

The raptor blows the doors off of the 400ex in the motor department PERIOD.
