Default Eton Yukon 150 stalles on decelleration?

When its cold its ok, when it warms up, every time I come to a stop it stalls. It doesnt happen in reverse.

I droped the fuel bowl yesterday and removed the 2 jets, cleaned them, sprayed carb cleaner all over the carb, let the jets sit in some carb cleaner for a while, then blew them with air. Put it back together and its a little bit guicker but still stalls.

I've played with the idle speed and what I think is the mixture screw, cant find a happy medium. Its either racing too fast or stalling. I think it might be a float adjustment problem. How do u adjust the floats on this thing?

Also while just cruising around at very light throttle, I can feel the enging bogging down and then taking back off again without any change at all to the throttle position by me.

This thing seems very tempormental since Ive owned it and Im getting tired of working on it, other then getting rid of it do u have any ideas of how to get it to run correctly. It always starts right back up, the idle does fluctuate while its sitting still, it goes up and down at times, almost like a vacume leak, Ive used carb cleaner but havent been able to locate a leak.

TYhanks

its probably the automatic choke, you can buy a new carb with the manual choke on e-bay for $80, that would probably be the best way to go

What would make u say its the choke?

It actually runs better cold, it seems to act up once it gets warm, 15-30 min after its running it starts stalling and fluctuating, by then the choke should be fully open.

How can I check the choke on this, I dont even see it on the carb, I assume its under that cover on top of the carb but not sure.

Plus if I nail the throttle in reverse and then stop the quad it doesnt stall, nail it in forward and hit the brakes, it stalls?? I was thinking floats but I really dont know, thats why Im looking for help.

Hate to just throw money at it for no reason. The carbs on ebay, are they new or used or rebuilt, I've never looked for any there?

How many turns out should the mixture screw be?

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks

I believe that unit has automatic choke. The senser may be bad. If you can take it to dealer to test the part by trying anew one may help. It could also be a loose wire connection. When stopping maybe its pulling away from contact. We have had many loose connections on our e-tons. We have 12 of them.

I think I finally fixed it. I cleaned the jets again, that stopped the idle flutuating, then I finally decided to raise the floats and it hasnt stalled since. Lets hope it stay that way.

Thanks for the replys.

Good on ya! We have the cxl challengers. They all began running rich. Tried adjusting floats but made it worse. We rejetted from 104 mains to 100s and made foam airfilters. They run great now. Were in the tropics so very hot dusty and humid.

The wife and I went out yesterday for a 4 hr ride, 95% of the time the eton ran perfect, but if we hit a rocky/bumpy trail it would stall again.

Im stumped.

I was even able to make it stall today if I just jumped on it while sitting still. I tried raising and lowering the floats, cant get it to stop runs perfect on smooth trails, has more power now then it did before, but somthing about hitting big bumps makes it stall, and it will still occasinally stall on a real hard stop.

Any ideas. I wonder if Im even adjusting the floats correctly, the service manual I have doesnt mention tha carb at all.

Please help me with this thing before I have to sell it

Thanks

That clerifies the problem to me. Just a matter of finding that loose electric connection. Many of our units have had loose wires. There is a group of wires wrappe in gloss black plastic cover. running from the engine on the right side to the rear behind the shift handle and under the airfilter box. It connects under thee right rear fender. This has come loose on a couple of ours and we put lock washer on it. We disconnect all electric connections, clean and spray with contact cleaner. Then wd40 to keep them clean and dry hopefully. A little grease may be better.
We also had spark plugs come loose but I think that was from my guys over tightenning them. Check the connection to the break safety switch. And all connection to and from cdi. Good luck to you mate.

Thankyou for the help, I will go over the electricle connections at the end of the week when Im off again. Some how I just kept thinking this was carb related.

I keep hearing about CDI boxes, what and where is it on this yukon eton 150, its a 2002 model. And what does it do.

Thank you again

It been very hard getting any help with this thing, no body knows anything about Etons.

I even wrote to Eton tonight, but wasnt sure if I would hear back from them or not since its not a new model.

Thank u again. Where are u from? and why do u own 12 etons? just curious.
