i have an old 84 suzuki 125 that needs desperate help witht the plastic. it sat out in a yard uncovered for like 5 years and has gone from orange to almost pink/white. i have found the new layer of rich orange plastic under it but need to know how to get to it the fastest way ( sandpaper gets clogged to fast, a razor is faster but tiring.) also once im there how can i sand the plastic w/ out dulling it? i have to do all the plastic and no aftermarket plastic is available. thanks alot---any experience w/ PC1 plastic renew? thanks alot

Try a broken piece of glass with some duct tape for a grip. This is an old timer trick for refinishing furnature. Use the edges to shave (like stopping on hockey skates)the plastic down to where you like. As far as sanding, how bout a palm sander? Good luck, looks like job for rainy day!

You can try wet sanding the plastic with a coarse sandpaper then you'll need to sand it again with a finer sand paper to get the ridges out. Also I've used Plastic Renew from PC racing it takes alot of work to get the plastic back in shape but the results are worth it.

Sorry no tips on the plastic, but I also have an old 1984 Suzuki LT125, what are the chances. It was a good starter and still runs fine today.

I took advise from another post under "Yahama" that said to use a Scotch-Brite pad and Mop-n-Glo floor polish. I tried it on my 400ex plastic and it's back to showroom condition.

Use the pad to buff out the scratches, wipe it clean, add the mop-n-glo, steel wool between coats, and buff to a shine! Total time was about 15 minutes and cost was $4.00

lets try the spiffy green color with the sponge dooby on the other side...works good for applying the mop n glo. Cancel the steel wool, makes like starting from scratch (no pun intended)
