Default Battery problem

Well, its me Choky, havent been around for ages, and as a result I havent been around my quad either,I also forgot to disconnect the battery,so it has drained.
Is there any way it could charge back up by push starting it and riding it for a while with the headlights on,like back when the YFZ450 had battery problems in the first year? I say head lights on,caus thats what was recomended back then with the 450s,should I do the same with the Rappy?
When I first started it with the drained battery it was just a clicking, but I did push start it and I rode it for a while, and the battery did come on much stronger, but not enough to start it up,how long do I have to ride it for? Or am I gonna have to buy a new battery? Caus they cost a bomb here
Anyway,thank in advance

Default Battery problem

I would say you are going to have to replace the battery if it didnt charge enough to start 1 time after riding and since it didnt die with a dead battery and the headlights on your stator is charging but I dont know what the deal is with the headlights on seems to me it would just be harder on your stator running the headlights and trying to charge a battery but maybe there is something I dont know here like a voltage spike concern or something.

Because stators are always on, and cant be cycled off like an alternator (with the field wire), its recommended to leave the headlights on, to keep a low battery from charging too quickly, which can damage it. The lights absorb the excess current, by being on.
If you have a charger, charge the battery the best you can, and then have it load tested. Thats the only way to know for sure if the battery is good or not.
