Default One-Way bearing & gear on 03 Raptor.

Well my one-way bearing finally went out on my 03 Raptor. I am planning on doing the repairs myself and I need advice from those who have done it. I have seen L&A kits from 200 up to 295. The lower price ones only come with the bearing & the higher ones with the 52 tooth gear. My question is do I need the 52 tooth gear, how can you tell if it is damaged, and can I use it with slight damage like tho photo on RaptorTrany.com the shows scuffs.

You could run it with a slightly scuffed up gear, but then you run the risk of tearing up your new $200 one way. We just replaced mine and we didnt get the gear but once we tore it all apart, the gear was trashed and we just went to the dealer to get another gear but it cost about an extra $30 at the dealer. You should just get the whole kit, gear and all.
