I have a Kazuma 250 with about 8 hours on it. One day out riding and it stalled. No spark. I have a Kart with some of the same parts, and narrowed it down to the cdi. Replaced it and it still will not start. The choke seems to be working. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.

is the kart and the kazuma the same engine? did you try putting the kazuma cdi on the kart? if they not the same engine the cdi probably won't work, differant timing requirments. the coils should be interchangable.

Yes the same engine. swapped the coil from kart to quad and quad to kart. The quad would not start and the kart would with either coil. I have read about the cam shaft bolts needing to be replaced, what do you think about this.

this is a stupid question but did you check the plug and make sure the switch is on?
take the plug and put it in the spark plug boot on the kart and ground it and see if you get spark out of it.

oh I thought you didn't have spark now that you have spark did you drain the float ( lil screw on bottom of carb) if yes what came out good or bad gas?
I would try to fire up with starting fluid just a little and make sure motor is turnig when you squirt it in.

do you have good compression in the cylinder ? could need valve adj. especialy if it pops.

you may have picked up dirty gas to if so you will have to pull carb to clean jets

one of my buddies put diesel in his couldn't figure out why it wouldn't run when I pulled the carb there was diesel in it he blamed it on one of his driver's at the shop
(haha) I said

if it looks like crap, smells like crap. taste like crap, guess what it is ? ha ha

what i do is drain some out in a clear water bottle and make sure it looks good not real brown and a bunch of junk in it. I also go by smell

do you have good compression ?

its probably your carb got some dirt, if it runs on starting fluid the jets are probably dirty

get some start fluid and let me know what happens

these bikes have auto choke and sometimes that can cause problems to but usually it still will start if its the choke but will run like crap

the biggest problems with the 250 seens to be the wire connectors to the coil come loose and act like you describe, eaither replace them or the very least recrimp them
