got a 99 300ex and i am getting new tires and dont know what to get

i ride in the trails(very rocky and rough)but i also dont want to lose any speed from the tires

so i want some lightweight very tought tires

 

i say ither the Holeshot ITP XCT http://www.itptires.com/sportatv/holeshot_xct.html or ITP Hole Shot Star http://www.itptires.com/sportatv/tracstar.html and i would stay with stock size unless you wnat to do some performance upgrades

 

I just put ITP Trac Stars (don't know where he got "Hole Shot Star" from???) on our 250's, and I am very impressed with these tires! They really improve the ride and contribute a lot to the quads suspension. Very light. Go with 22" front and rear, to keep your ground clearance. Put them on some wider ITP rims, and you will get a nice increase in stability.

Before that, it was nothing but ITP Holeshot XC's for many years. These are indestructible, but a bit heavy.

Id go with Holeshot HD's I think all around those are the best tires, I have HD's on the rear of my 250r and man do those things grab on to anything, sandy trails, muddy trails, major ruts.

 

I put the dunlop stock tires off a 450r on mine. They hook up great, and were very cheap. There are tons of these tires out there, take offs, just like new, and can be found mounted. I paid 25 bucks total, for like new tires on honda rims.( the ebay sale was local, and i picked them up, and saved shipping charges) These are actually very good tires, and not very heavy. The only downside is they are 20 inch tires, and i lost some top end speed and 1/2" of ground clearance, but the acceleration is stronger.

 

i am looking for speed to so should i go with 22" or 20's????

 

Hard to know what someone means when they say "speed". If you mean top end speed, then you want taller tires. If you mean quick off the line and power to climb hills, then the smaller tires will give you more low end torque.

 

ok lets say i went with a 20" ummm holeshot(any one) will i still have good top end speed? and good low end torque?
