kazuma 50cc won't stay running
#1
Hi, We bought our son a 50cc Kazuma from Raceway ATV's. It has been a wonderful starter 4 wheeler... until recently. For some reason it won't start with the push button. We bought a new battery, and it tries to start but it won't. Got a new solenoid it didn't work. Then got a starter it didn't help either. Anyway, we could push start it and just settled for that. Then it started dying after he was out riding it. It would run for while and then it just dies, usually when he was idling but it also happened while moving. That started to happen more and more frequently. We adjusted the carb, and that seemed to help. I let it sit and idle for 10-15 minutes and it didn't die. But died again the other day while he was riding around and it hasn't started since. Has plenty of gas, replaced the spark plug. Made sure none of the kill switches are in the wrong position. Any ideas that could help us figure out what the problem is? Thanks, Kristi.

I agree with billl2099 99.9% its the valves. I have seen this before. If you want to give us a call on Monday I can email you some information and spec's on adjustments.

Ok, this may be a stupid question, just warning you ahead of time. I have directions from raceway and from another thread on this forum for adjusting the valves. This is my first time adjusting valves of any kind, and I'm not quite sure exactly where the gauge should be. The rocker arm and what valve part? I'm a girl who's a nurse not a mechanic so don't laugh too hard when you read this.

Intake & Exhaust valves need to be set at Top Dead Center .004 each for valve clearance
