brpbear, i hear ya about the heat. mine had a heat shield and still got warm. but what happened with you springs?
From the looks of this thread, there haven't been many "major" problems with the 800. what was the first year they came out and has it been long enough to prove reliability? I'm gettin another one regardless. It's fast as he!!.

About 50 miles on 07 800Xt, I say about because it is reading in kilometers,I left the dealer before checking to see if it was set for kilometer or miles, oh well they can change it at the 10 hour service. And I'm lovin every mile (or kilometer) so far. Impressive power, comfort and style. The engine brake on this thing is amazing. Haven't noticed the heat problem on the seat or plastic yet or the spring sag on the front. I am having intermittent problems with the speedo, sounds like a few Outys are seeing this. I'll let the dealer take care of that at the 10 hour service also. I would have a few more miles on this thing, but it seems like I am spending a lot of time on the trail answering questions about how I like the Outy and how well it performs. I don't mind at all.
