anyone know if there is verizon service at the hill? if so my cellular air card and lap top will allow me to post pics from the hill. and there is running water and flush toilets but no showers right?

 

from the top of the hill most can get cell sevice, some special peeps actually get it at the base of the hill too[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img] no showers, but running water and bathrooms are available- entrance to LSU is $10/day on big weekends, $8 any other time.

 

Water, Water, Water....

I prefer not to tow the extra 1100lbs of water with me. Is there a place to fill the tank at the dunes? I'm told there are water bibs on site. Is this potable water? Really just need shower water.

Yes there is a dump station at Little Sahara over by Oasis Campgroud. Just follow the signs. I only use the two end taps at either end of the station..

Honestly, sand mountain is not really set up for big time camping. There is running drinkable water. The bathrooms are not flushers, and also you can smell them from 100 yards away. NO trees, firepits, or any ammenites at all really. Just a huge sandy parking lot surrounded by dunes, with some of the best riding available. The white sands camping area is much better camping but is like 5 miles away from sand mountain. And trust me, it will definitly be packed. I am there on a regular basis and just any old weekend will bring people from all over and will crowd the mountain! Good luck to everyone heading out there! Its a blasts and be sure to check out the backside of the mountain. Its amazing!

 

There is a water spout that is right after you pay by the toilets and the ranger station. I usually fill up there when I don't haul water.
