I was wondering how this bike would handle and feel? would it shake alot or not since the engine isn't counterbalanced? let me know what you all think?? thanks!

 

It would shake to the point of cracking your frame in the end. A non-counterbalanced engine is not a good choice for a quad.

i don't know what it would be like but i do know it would be sweeeeet! if u want a 500 2 stroke why don't u get a quadzilla or see if any1 makes a 500 big bore kit? i know they make 400's for em.

 

I know for a fact that the bigger the bore the more it shakes. I have a YZ 490 and it shakes really bad, it would annoy you and damage your frame. If you really wanted to put a 500 in a 250 frame, if at all possible look and see if they make a counterbalancer for it or make one for it. That would get rid of the shaking and you would have one hell of a fast bike.

 

i might do the same thing after i finish my 250r i'm building. i don't think you can put a counter balance in them but i may be wrong. the only thing i heard you can really do is rubbing bushings although i don't the would help much.

 

I apologize for my ignorance but how does a counter balance work or what do you counter balance? I thinking it might be the fly wheel?

The counter ballancer is usually in front of the crank area. It is a weight that "counterballances" the crank and its purpose is to keep the engine vibration to a minumum. It is connected be gears to the crank.

The Dynos at GThunder say that the 500r in the 250r puts out 60 stock ponies at the rear wheels! whoa! anything quad killer

 

there was a article on one within the last 3 months in Dirt Wheels. It didn't vibrate too much. The guy had $12,000 into it though. He said it was a RUSH to ride it. He also stated, that the only reason he had $12,000 and 3 years into it was because every part on the quad was either powder coated or chromed. So you could do the swap for alot cheaper.
