450r valve adjustment

Default 450r valve adjustment

I was wondering if anyone has a site or instrustions on how to do a valve adjustment on an 07 450r I just need help from when I get the valve cover off and what to do from there...any help would be greatly appreciated I am just trying to find out becuase I just got my first 450r a few days ago and want to know how to do it so when the time is right which I have been told about 10-15 tanks of gas then I can adjust them myself.

I dont know who told you 10-15 tanks of gas before the first valve adjustment, but if you wait that long your going to need more than just a valve job!! Try after about 3-5 tanks!

so every 3-5 keep adjusting them and do you have any instructions on how to do it or should I get a service manual...Thanks because the valves if you wait to long they will tighten up and start to cup isn't that correct if you do not adjust them.

3-5 tanks for the first adjustment after break-in then I would go about twice a year if you ride quite a bit. You can sign up with Honda HERE and get the manufacturers info

Thanks guys I just want to get everything figured out so i know what I need to change and so on that way I can keep my engine in good working condition...Thanks for the info I am going to order a service manual as soon as my dealer can get me one.

Alright thanks honda mechanic a guy that I buy oil from who knows his stuff said the same thing to me. Do you have any idea of when the 07 service manual will be out I am just gonna buy one.

alright thanks becuase I was looking to get one when they became availabe to the public thanks for the help on the 450r.
