Best Paddle Size for Hi CR stock bore DS?
#1
Need some recomendations on paddle size for my DS. I've decided on going with a 14.1 standard bore piston w/ cams and a large carb for now. I'm going with the Skat Haulers and was thinking that the 22x10x11 8paddle tires would work well for what I'm doing. Is this what you guys that are into the drags and duning are using or?? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Dave i am using 10 paddle triple buffed tires 22-11-8 and they are working very well for me.You may not want the triple buffed tires because they are very thin because of the buffing but they are much better for drag racing than a standard hauler.I weighed my triple buffs with a lightened hub and they are 14 1/2 lbs each and i weighed my 9 paddle extremes with a hub and they are 20 1/2 lbs each.My .125 wheels also contribute to the lighter combined weight of the triple buffs. The light weight and the hook up you get with the triple buffed tires makes them worth the extra cost but only if you are going to get pretty serious about your drag racing.Last weekend i tried a set of 8 paddle haulers that i had in the trailer on my stock bore DS and they were not near enough paddle for my motor and i think you would find the same to be true with yours. The bottom line is go with 10 paddle triple buffed tires for maximum performance or go with a regular hauler for good all around performance it just depends on how serious you are about drag racing.

22 x 11 x 10 are the way to go, on paddle count, thats up to you, being a BIG GUY I was fine with 8 paddle extremes they spin really easy in teh sand, used #9 paddles and they bite hard, not enough floatation spin felt like is was putting a drag on the motor. Text Paddle Thread
