Cannot locate a mount for my winch
#1
I need help guys and gals. I purchased a new Champion winch and cannot find a mount to fit my bike. I have a 1988 Honda FourTrax 300 2X4. I went to the Honda shop and they sold me a mount that was supposed to fit. The problem was that my frame is V shaped where it the mount attaches and the one they sold me is for a frame that has straight frame rails. They gave me my money back and searched for a week looking for a mount. They had no luck. I have no way of fabricating one so if anyone knows where I can get one or has one please let me know. I want to attach the winch before winter. Thanks!

If honda can't find a mount for the winch, you may have to take it to machine shop and hve a mount welded to the frame, there are machine shop's with people with the skill's to fabricate a mount for your winch ! If you don't know of one try looking in the yello pages. Auto body shop's are a good source , muffler repair shop's are only a few to start with !!! It shouldn't cost as much to have this done at one of these type places to start with, but auto body shop's radiator repair shop's would be my first stop ! I hope this help, sometimes help is right around the corner.......Good luck.....................williebee

Williebee,
Thanks for the info. If I was thinking when I had that other mount that didn't fit, I should have taken it with me to a shop and they could have used it as a pattern or design. I have a few buddies in the automotive rebuilding business and I may have to go see about having them do me a favor. The mount won't be all that hard to make. Thanks!!
