Hot Seat Dual rate Springs...test no. 2
#1
Well, I went on a day long ride and got to test the new suspension out pretty good. I would have to say that the suspension quality has been doubled. Not bad considering I have my stock struts. Can't wait to get my Works!
Small whoops are no longer a problem for the front. Bigger whoops must be hit nicely and it soaks them right up. They never bottomed out like the stockers and hit much less hard when landing on the "face" of the next bump. That's to be expected.
I did not jump the huge ditch like I had planned (chickened out...) but small jumps fealt great upon landing. Twice as comfy! Plus it corners better too. It has less "body-roll". (I think thats the term used...)
The rear "custom" triple-rate set-up did great too. It handled whoops, jumps and uneven terrain much better than stock. But like all Polaris models, one must know it's limits. It gives no indication that your riding too "extreme"...you find that out when the end shoots to one side and bites in!!
All in all I love this new addition to my Scram and is well worth the dough spent...

I think the Works is set up for the stock spring. Did Works say that the Hot Seat springs can be used w/ it & is there any advantage? Just curious.

Upon ordering they told me all was fine with the new HotSeat springs. I will just call them to see if it will fit precisely because the new springs seem to sit a little lower.
I bought them used off of "Scramblered", yes Scramblered! New they cost, if memory serves me well, about 299$ for the whole kit.
Now if only I can get the rear strut fixed to give me some "real" rebound...
