Default 300 trx carb info

Hi folks, I have a 92 300 4x4 that is having carb trouble. I would appriceate any info that I can get to help with the choke problems. The thing starts fine, but won't hardly idle. runs great but shows signs of the choke not completely disengaging. It even puffs dark smoke on accelleration. I have pulled the choke slide out and can't seem to find anything wrong with the mechanism. Any body got any ideas ? This carb has never been rebuilt. It stays in the garage all summer long and is not ridden until hunting season. I have tryed fuel stabelizers and cleaners, no help. What do ya think ?

Thanks Flyin Flinn, I'll tear it down and try to clean her up. Do you think I should replace the small O- ring on the choke slide ? Can I spray carb cleaner through the jet paths and expect that to clean out the obstruction ? Thanks again for your advise.

hey the best thing to do is spray carb and choke in all the passages and blow it out with a compressor. then spray wd-40 on the choke oring to lubricate and keep from drying out. let me know how it turns out.
