Default 200s top end performnace mods

Hi,

Thanks so much to all the folks on this great forum. You have really helped me out over the last couple of months.

I'm thinking of putting a 12:1 piston and a XR200 cam in an 1984 200s project. Is there a shop manual out there that can walk me through the piston/cam change? Is this a big job? I'm handy with Auto engines but have just recently started fooling with ATC engines. Is the piston and cam change something that can be accomplished with in a few hours.

I would love to hear from folks that have recently done this.

Well I had a buddy that has recently redone his atc. He did not put any performace mods in it but its basicly the same deal. If your going to but a new piston with the same bore and your bore looks good then that should not take you very long at all to do. The cam is the same way. Just pay attention to how it comes off. I think the hardest thing for you do is get the timing right... Good luck!

Oh and do you have any women or young kids that ride this that have a hard time pull starting it??? When you put that piston in there it will rip your arm off to start it just like when you put one in a 200x its a B!tch to start... Just something to think about...
