06 foreman 500 gas mileage
#1
i was just wondering what a 06 foreman would get for gas mileage and how far a tank of gas will go. i have a 95 polaris xplorer and it gets worse mileage then my f350 powerstroke. im thinking about trading it in on a new foreman especially if it gets alot better mileage. i thought that after i rebuilt the motor ti would but its still about the same. so if anyones done the math or whatever. thanks

Hi Ford, ....I have an 05 Honda Rubicon that does great on gas mileage. It has a 4.2 gallon tank and when we go to Sardis to ride, a round trip is about 45 to 50 miles, "depending on how much we play" I make it on a tank of gas and that's on the sand. I always take an extra gallon can just in case because it's on empty when we finish.
Hope this helps... Mayorstt

Yeah, I can go a bit over 100 miles of rough trail riding on a tank, too. Usually I ride with a guy who runs a Rincon, and the two machines hit reserve within a mile or two of each other.

is your explorer a 2-stroke? 2-stroke engines "in theory" get worse fuel mileage, since they burn fuel at twice the rate of an equal sized four-stroke. My 500cc Yamaha Phazer snowmobile gets 20 miles to the gallon (actually pretty good for a snowmobile) and my 350 rancher gets close to 40 mpg, depending how i ride. My gf has a 96 explorer 300 2-stroke, and she can barely get 20 with it, and she's pretty conservative with her riding. I figured I would point that out, but if you're looking into a foreman, that's cool. You'll love it, no more chains to worry about

yea its a two stroke. i knew they got worse mileage but with it firing twice as much its also supposed to put out more power, and i didnt know if the trans is supposed to pick up for it or not. i would like to get something without the chains but the worst part is ive had to replace more shafts in it then chains ive had to replace the output shaft for 4wd and the shaft going from the sprocket to the hub on the front wheel. once i get the button ramps for the pvt and get it back together ill call the dealer, cause this thing hasbeen broken way to often. and he wont email me back waht he would give for a trade in.
