Any idea when the 07 Rancher will be available?
#1
I callled a couple of dealers, first one said he had them in stock but when I asked if that was the new 420cc model he said Honda didn't make a 420cc Rancher, next dealer said he had an idea when he'd get them in but refused to give me even a guess as to when, next dealer again tried to sell me the 350 as the 07 420 then when I questioned him on it he just said he had no idea when they'd get them. Are these guys just playing Dumb until they unload the 06 models, I find it difficult to believe they wouldn't be aware of all the changes Honda has made to the Rancher.
Anyone know when they might be available?

Some dealers are just plain dumb man. Hahaha i know so much about ATV's, the prices, what makes them work, the standard features, EVERYTHING.. And im getting ready to buy again, and i was at my local Honda dealer looking for an '06 Green Foreman 500 ES and seen a leftover '05 Honda Rubicon 500 (Green) and so when i got home, i called and asked for the price because i thought an '05 Rubicon would be comparable in price to an '06 Foreman 500 ES... WELLL, this is how the conversation went... "Hey my names Jon and i was calling to find out the price of an ATV." He said "ok which ones are you interested in?" I said, playing dumb, "Do you have any '05 Rubicon's left? If so, what are you asking?" He replied.. "Yeah, we got 2 of them leftover and we can get you out the door for $6,800!!!!.. I said "thankyou" and hung up. WOW the MSRP on an '07 Rubicon is $7200 of $7300 ... And they would only go down that much? Pathetic.. And then later, i asked what the OTD price for the '06 Foreman ES that i was interested in and he said "We can get you OTD with one for about $6,500!!! Again, i just said "thankyou." and hung up... I DIDNT ASK FOR THE MSRP!!! I WANTED TO KNOW THE DEALS! It's ridiculous. I love talking to salesman when i know more than they do, and its so obvious.. anyway, i dont think i helped you with your post, just letting you know how ridiculously stupid some dealers are...

Thanks JonJon , this will be my first atv so I'm not used to motorcycle dealers, one guy offered to cut me $150.00 off MSRP an 06 Rancher but I said No Thanks!! I guess they don't have much trouble selling them at MSRP in my area.

I would consider just getting an 06 if I could get a really good price. Honda had a big promotion on Ranchers last month (no doubt designed to sell off the leftover 06's), so locally the 06's are all sold out (unless I would settle for an ES......but no way with all the problems they are having!).
But, So. Calif. isn't really utility country anyway, so it isn't like dealers ever had hundreds of them in stock to start with. My favorite dealership was well aware of the changes for 07, but said that they had not even ordered any of them, that's how poorly utilities sell around here.
Maybe it's a sign that I should sell the Rancher I have (hunting season is upon us, so maybe some hunter would pick it up?), and just get a Rhino (1 Rhino = 2 quads....for less money).

I don't get it. You've been praising lightweight 4WD ATV's for a long time, saying how safe and fun it is to manhandle them in rough, hilly terrain.
Buying a huge UTV will be the complete opposite of this. What will you do when encountering this type of terrain on a big, heavy cumbersome UTV. I don't think you'll use body english to negotiate the terrain...

Well, Honda didn't come out with an ultralight 4wd, so maybe I will reward them for their lack of creative thinking, by jumping ship????
The Rancher pretty much just gets used only in the summer when the desert is to hot to ride. (In summer we ride in the cooler mountains.) But, the Rhino is something the kids would love to rip around the desert in, so it would be a more practical, dual purpose year-round machine (vs a Racher that would just sit in the garage during the cooler months). And, it has a roll cage. It's a toss up at this point..........
Or, just getting the kids a Jeep to rip around in would be even cheaper (and street legal)..........

Thanks, I checked with a couple more dealers and they said the same, sometime in November/December, none of them wanted to go below $4,150.00 for a 06 Rancher 2x4 ES, I'll wait for the 07 unless I can find someone willing give a decent deal on the 06 model while I wait. One salesman told me that they only made $200.00 on them and that's why they couldn't cut the price much, the more I talk to these guys the less I like them!!
