Aside from internal engine mods, I'm not sure there is much you can do.

Are you running 27" tires on your machine? The 589 is pretty heavy tire and in that size, it must really hinder the take off speed of your machine. I think by going down to 25" tires you'll get a little bit of that low end back.

GlennJ hit that one right on the head,if your motor is stock, 27" aggressive tires like that will kill your bottom end. Even mild engine mods will only get you some of that snap back, you would need some good grunt to spin those big meats with a 348 cc motor. Maxxis Sur Tracs or All Tracs are great tires to put on a Wolverine, and the 25" is not much taller than the stockers, just a lot wider on the rims, great for traction in mud and soft dirt. You can start with a good pipe, jetting and a good filter for more air flow, maybe a torque stuffer for more bottom end ( it's a venturi funnel that goes into the exhaust pipe at the head, supposed to give you more bottom end). EPI makes a clutch kit for the newer Wolverines that will help turn bigger tires, just involves taking the engine side cover off. But maybe start with selling those big shoes for some smaller lighter tires, and you will see a big improvement.

Run Lighter tires for sure. The torque stiffer is supposed to work good too.

A good pipe and air filter will help power, I hear the HMF pipes are really good. Also a Jet Kit will help throttle response. I'm wanting more low end as well so I am going to buy an EPI clutch kit in the next week and install it in my Wolvy since I have 25" Mud Bugs. I will let you know how it turns out.

I've got a line on a guy with a brand new never used Torque stuffer that needs a good home. PM me for details.

As posted before, the tires are killer on low end.

I've got a 446 stroker and I wouldn't put 27" 589s on it - it's just too much weight to try and turn over.

On the other hand, if you are really into your quad and the amount of ground clearance it gives you, you can do a transmission gear swapout with a bigbear. The 1st couple of gears are geared lower so you'll have more low end grunt. I've not talked to anyonet that has actually done it, but I do believe it can be done. The bottom ends are almost identical except for the gearing and their respective locations. I'd be more than happy to help out on this as much as I can.
