Chain tensioner

Default Chain tensioner

anyone given any thoughts into getting rid of the chain tensioner. I know its there for a reason but is it really that neccesary? Mines worn out and the chain falls off alot.

What kind of bike. The mfg installed it for a reason. A new one is usually very cheap.

sssduane,

Has your quad always had the problem with the chain falling off?

Or did it start after the chain tensioner wore out?

Default Chain tensioner

I pulled the quad out and looked at it after I posted the question and it looks like it was just bent, pushing the chain away from the swing arm. Bent it back in and it looks like it'll function properly.

I was wondering how neccesarry they are considering my 400 and 300 don't have them, course the pivot point for the swing arm is closer to the front sprocket.
