Default 250 Keeps dying

I recently rebuilt the carb on my TB 250 and finally got it started, It was idling okay, seemed to be down on power and wouldnt rev very high, i got it up to about 30mph and then it would slowly start reving down and dying, no matter what i did. Then when i tried to start it, it was flooded badly.
So im thinking its either the floats, or the carb needs adjusting?
Any advice?
thanks

Check your compression. I have the very same problem with my 05 see my thread what should I do.

Generally flooding issues that you have described occur due to the float not being properly adjusted or a defective needle and seat. You did not indicate whether your rebuild included a new needle and seat but even a small particle will stick those open and flood the engine. Compression check is a good idea in conjunction with the carb analysis.

thanks for all the replies guys
when i had the spark plug out it seemd to have lots of compression, and Ive already replaced the needle seat. The floats are set so that the arms are level with the bowl gasket surface when the carb is upside down. I even checked the floats in some water and they seem to move freely. Im gonna check more into the enrichment plunger

but basically now when i try to start it, it floods bad enought that the exhaust fills up with fuel!

thanks for the input all

take all the filter off and stuff so u can see straight into the backside of the carb...then with it in neutral just rev it u will be able to see the slide goin up and down see if u notice anything unusual

its just running way to rich
