grizzly 125 problem

Default grizzly 125 problem

hi all
i buyed a grizzly 1 month ago i got it brand new 2006
i drove it every day to this day atleast 5 to 7 hours a day , ofcorse i would usualy let it cool down about half an hour after i could feel it get reall hot
any ways , before yesterday , i was driving with full throttle for atleast 20 minutes , and then suddanly, on a paved straight road the quad starts to lose the throttle, and slows down all the way until it completly stops
i try starting it, and it starts , i hit the throttle just a bit , and the quad goes off and ever time i start it it starts like normal on its first shot , but if i touch the throttle a little it will just go of
there is no way it will go foward even on neutral nor forward it wont take the gass
but it does stay on (idle) just like normal ,its jsut the throttle it won't accept

so if any one would have an opinion or idea of what is wrong your info is really helpfull
since i would most likely try to fiks it my self instead of taking it to some service in my country that really dont no how to fiks it and just tauch the carborator and stuff and then tell me they can not fiks it

ow and yeah i do regulary change the oil and filters.

Sounds like the main jet in the carb sucked up some crud. Youll need to drop the float bowl and clean out that jet.

WELL being just a month old it is still under warranty dont worry yourself take it back to the shop let the fix it for you....

If there is "crud" or water in the carb it is not covered under warrenty. Yamaha did not put it in there. If it is plug from plastic or machine shavings that came in from factory then it should be covered. I would guess that about 80% of the "warrenty" problems that my shop sees are not due to manufactureing defects. Hondabuster is right about main jet being plugged but don't expect dealer to fix for free if they find dirt or water in bowl. TORK

He needs a better dealer then. Our dealer has fixed that type of problem on a Banshee that was a month old, and charged us nothing for it. Who is his dealer looking out for, Yamaha, or his customers?

My point is Yamaha did not put the fuel in the tank and it is not a warrenty problem. If the dealer takes care of it great, he has a wonderful dealer and i would hope he doesn't take advantage of that. It still is not Yamaha's problem if it is not a manufacturing defect and he should not expect warrenty for such a problem. This is one reason why the price of service and Quads in general are going up. It's the same as insurance, If there are a bunch of people trying to get money for things that should not be paid it drives cost up.
Not trying to make anyone mad, if he has warrenty coming he should get it but if not he needs to be more careful with maintenance. TORK
