Hi Guys. I have a Fourtrax with all of the usual cracks and holes in the plastic. Whats the best way, short of replacement, to repair this? My plan was to back up the cracks and holes with flexible plastic and pop rivet the patches in place. Then, since this machine is used mostly for hunting, I thought I would cover all the plastic with one of the cammoflage tape kits that is available. Has anyone used one of these kits? Do you think this repair will work? Any suggestions are really appreciated! Thanks, Tom (Cheesehead)

You can try melting the plastic together with a soldering gun or drill small holes in the plastic and use zip ties every 1/2" or so along the crack.

You can get an ATV fender repair kit..."plastic welding kit" from

http://www.urethanesupply.com/atv2.htm

They designed their own heat gun with a slot to feed their plastic welding rods through. I've used it and I'm sastified with my repair. It leaves a scar but the repair is strong.

I have also seen the plastic welder used, but the guy welded the cracks from the under side only and you could barely tell that the fenders were ever broken.
