I have the new 2007 Griz 700 with installed Warn winch. I ordered and received the new synthetic rope
made for this 2500 warn winch. I have pulled the wire out the the tag end. Here is where I get a little
confused. Do I have to remove the winch from the Griz with mounting plate etc, or just pop a couple
or bolts loose on the left side. Has anyone allready replaced a winch cable or rope on one of these. If
so please help. I wanted the rope for its safety benefits.

about 8 turns on the drum. Thats what they recommend you leave on when winching. I got them on tight so
while my wife pressed the in button, I held back the rope so I could get a good smooth very tight fit. It came
out quite well and suits me. I had to change the fairlead to an aluminum fairlead that protects the rope. It
all looks nice when done.

I bought a 2.5c warn and a synthetic rope kit at the same time. Then I took out the steel cable and just inserted the rope like the cable came out and wound it on evenly and have had no problems I just make sure I leave a few wraps on the drum when using the winch. When I got the sny rope they sent a new fair lead too, if you switch from a steel cable to syn rope you can damage the rope if the old fair lead has burrs on it.
