A nearby place is selling out these cheap. A coworker just bought one with a windshield, handwarmers, step through bag, and a rear rack organizer for only $4600.00 total price OTD taxes paid. They still have about 15 left. I'm thinking about surprising my wife with one at this price. Has any of you ever ridden one of these and if so how do they ride? Are they really hard steering since I believe you are always in 4X4 mode. My wife weighs only about 140 and is 5 ft 5. She can ride my Sportsman 700 no problem. Also how are these in the power department and reliability. Thanks in advance, Brian

I own a 2003 Quest and its been very reliable and has plenty of power. 10 times more reliable than my KFX700, that thing breaks (rusts swing arm bearings) just sitting there. POC!
I Have over 3500 miles on my Quest and the only thing that has broken was the starter it broke while under warrenty. My Fault it broke
The weight is about the same as your sportsman but IMO the Quest rides allot better and is not as tippy feeling. Maybe thats because it has a solid rear axle. I have owned around 21/ 22 four wheel drive vehicles (tractors, trucks, loaders, jeeps, quads and SUV?s) of all these 4x4 vehicles the Bombardier visco-lok is the best and most reliable 4X4 system I have owned.
I'm sure you will be happy with it when you decide, the price is an outstanding deal.
If your wife can ride your Sportsman she can ride the Quest, no BULL it will not buck her off.
Enjoy!

The only problem I have with the John Deere is the shifter it is hard to shift unlike the Can-am. Other than that it is a good bike. I rode my dad's which is now my sisters. He bought a can-am outlander 800 max xt. You will like it and will get used to the shifter. It is a nice bike.

Thanks for the replies. When we found out he was picking it up yesterday, we decided to go on a 100 mile trail ride up in Wisconsin. I got the chance to drive it for a little bit and really liked it. The steering was very smooth and solid feeling. I think I may need to go buy one next week. For $4600 OTD I could barely get an entry level 4X4. The 650 did seem to have some grunt, but I didn't bury it due to it being new and not mine. The paint scheme even grew on me after seeing it all day on the trails. The typical JD Yellow and Green. The deal is either the 2 yr. warranty, or $400.00 in free accessories. Brian

I have a Bomb traxter (like the quad your looking at but a 500 and gear to gear). My thoughts on it:

Rides like a 1 ton truck with no load in it.
Pulls like a 4x4 tractor.
Climbs like a lizzard on crack.
Tough and built like a Mack truck. (Look at the frame and then look at a Honda frame) Ha ha ha ha........
Heavy as a M1A1 tank.

For strictly trail riding I can think of better quads. For work I can't. For $4600 I would buy it and over look the harsh ride.

I rode my friends 2006 and all I can say is that it rode smooth. They may have put better shocks on it recently? I did notice though that the dealer had the preload set as soft as it could be. Someone here may know the answer but I thought it used its 7 inches of travel well. It also weighs 713 lbs dry vs. the 760 that Can-Am advertises. Could they be lighter? Brian

I own a John deere 650, trail buck (drab green and black). I have never owned a quad before this. I bought it to use a work horse, I Then went with a a few cousins to The Badlands in Attica , IN. Everyone else had sporties. I did hill climbs, , deep sticky mud, and trails. The only problem i had was keeping with sporties through trails. probably more of my lack of experience. I will admit these machines are huge and very powerful. Later on that day we found our way back in deep mud. Everyone got stuck and i had to pull everyone out. Text

I have the 2005 John Deere Buck 500, I bought it to pull a harrow and a hay wagon, it is a work horse. Mine has a great tranny, with manual or auto and reverse. The ride isn't bad at all. The 4 wheel drive is not difficult to steer, my 8 year old daughter drives it all the time. You won't be sorry for buying it. By the way, I paid a little over 6K 18 months ago.
